Canine Companions for Independence (CCI) is an organization that trains service dogs to develop patience and to remain attentive, focused in the midst of distraction.
This week, the photo of Yahoo, a CCI service dog that was in training, went viral, as he sat patiently waiting for his caricature to be drawn. (See photo here)
The picture captures the peak skill of a canine that has developed the necessary patience to eventually serve persons with disabilities.
Canine Companions for Independence ultimately seeks to improve people’s quality of life through highly-trained dogs that give persons with disabilities greater opportunities for independence.
