The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) recently published a report on the impacts of climate change on marine life and human wellness.
The report titled “Explaining Ocean Warming: causes, scale, effects and consequences,” describes numerous ways in which marine life has been, and continues, suffering from warming waters around the globe.
Migration and death of certain species that cannot adapt are among the greatest dangers of global warming which can ultimately disrupt ecosystems and fisheries that billions of people rely on for food and jobs. Major storms will become more frequent with warmer weather to devastate communities and families. Global warming may also be dangerous for human health, as pathogens thrive in warm climates that facilitate the spread of diseases like Zika and Malaria.
