Based on an NPR poll, 1 in 5 Texans claim it has become increasingly difficult to access doctors in the last two years.
Texan insurers have further narrowed the pool of doctors available to people with small health care plans in an attempt to impose a “cost control measure,” says John Carlo, CEO of the Nonprofit Aids Arms Health agency in Dallas.
In a catch-22, about 70% of health care plans that are actually available to Texans are quite small, according to Dan Polsky, health economist at the University of Pennsylvania.
