United States Artists group received $20 million in funding from organizations like the Rockefeller Foundation, Ford Foundation, Doris Duke Charitable Foundation and the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation. The group grants money to artists in the US.
The donation will cover operations, including staffing, cultivation of nominators and the actual administration of grants, which group officials say is a rigorous process to manage. United States Artists has given over $21 million in grants to 450 artists.
