Sports stadiums around the U. S. are commissioning art projects and stepping into the realm of museums.
Art displays include everything from murals, to paintings and sculptures, among other artworks.
Numerous major stadiums have invested in art, including the Yankees stadium, The Vikings U.S. Bank Stadium, The Dallas Cowboys’ Stadium and the SF 49’s Levi’s Stadium.
“Stereotypes aside, sports and art have evolved into entertainment industries,” Star Tribune wrote, and thus the fusion of sports and the arts, while admittedly awkward, are but a ‘natural evolution’ as the two most popular leisure activities for the public.
