Nonprofit founder Robin Emmons recently told Southern Living magazine that despite her prolific farm work, people still think of her as a gardener because she is a woman. Emmons actively challenges this notion by working with an all-female agricultural team to run her organization, “Sow Much Good.” Sow Much Good brings affordable, fresh produce to Charlotte, N.C. residents living in food deserts and hosts nutrition workshops in these client communities. Emmons finds fulfillment in her work from the gratitude expressed by the people she serves and the chance she gets to show the world that many women can and do drive John Deere tractors to feed entire neighborhoods.
