Based on a report published in the Medical Society Consortium on Climate and Health, different states and geographic regions within the US are facing negative effects stemming from climate change.
According to the report, the environments of some individual states are changing due to extreme events, poor air quality, and other factors.
In particular, rising temperatures have increased nationwide, causing many to suffer from heatstroke and dehydration.
As a result of increasing temperatures, cases of insect-transmitted illnesses, such as Lyme disease and Zika virus, have risen in states including California, Louisiana, and Florida.
Scientists are concerned that changing environments within states will contribute to a drastically different American landscape.
