New York and Virginia Become First States to Implement Mental Health Education in Schools

New York and Virginia will be the first states to require mental health education in schools.

New York officials wrote that mental health “is an integral part of our overall health and should be an integral part of health education in New York schools.”

While New York’s law will integrate mental health education into all levels of schools, Virginia’s will require mental health material for 9th and 10th graders.
