Philanthropist Warren Buffett has made his biggest donation to date, giving away the Berkshire Hathaway stock, worth $3.4 billion in total.
The donation went to 5 different foundations, including the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation, Sherwood Foundation, Howard G. Buffett Foundation, and NoVo Foundation.
At least $2.6 billion of the stock went to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and the rest was divided among the others.
Buffett said he is driven to donate to organizations and leaders that are “energized” and “working hard.”
