Pruitt Faces Pressure From Conservative Groups to Reverse EPA Climate Policies

When the Oklahoma attorney general was appointed by President Donald Trump to lead the Environmental Protection Agency, his primary goal was to follow through with Trump’s campaign promises and reduce the size of the EPA as well as halt Barack Obama’s climate change policies.

Although Pruitt has received praise from the right during his first few weeks, he is now receiving criticism for not fighting the EPA enough.

Critics and foes of Obama argue that Pruitt has refused to challenge “endangerment finding”, which is the legal basis for Obama’s Clean Power Plan and other policies that address global warming. Pruitt has stated that he will not attempt to reverse this finding because this action will most likely be overturned by the courts.

Conservatives, including Breitbart News writer James Delingpole, says that refusal to undo endangerment findings would serve as “a major setback for President Trump’s war with the Climate Industrial Complex.”
