The United Launch Alliance (ULA) hosted its annual Student Rocket Launch through the program that inspires students to pursue careers in STEM through hands-on projects.
ULA launched the “Future Heavy” rocket –the world’s largest sports rocket, which has been in the works for the last four years. The 1200 pound rocket was launched from Fort Carson Army Post and reached an altitude 10,000 feet.
The program is one among many seeking to encourage more students to pursue STEM careers and seeking to spark children’s interest in the sciences as early as kindergarten.
