The grant-making organizations of Western New York continue to thrive and expand- their combined assets make up $1.9 billion. Of these organizations, 37 have merited spots on the Business First’s 2015 Top Foundations List, the largest being Community Foundation of Greater Buffalo, with $320 million in 2014 year-end assets, and the John R. Oishei Foundaton, with $293 million. Last year, the region’s largest foundations awarded $115.6 million in total grants throughout the area. Clearly, philanthropy in Western New York is doing well.
